Sick. Another week flying by here in the mission. A whole lot of drinking water, walking and sweating in these days. We spent most of the week working in other missionaries areas to help them find new people to teach, and doing some tasks to make one of the baptisms possible this last Saturday.
I was listening to a talk this week by Truman G. Madsen where he discussed the power of the Abrahamic tests. He tells a story about his visit to the Holy land with Elder Hugh B. Brown, an apostle at the time, in which they visited the supposed site where Abraham famously almost sacrificed his only son. He says that he asked Elder Brown about why it was necessary for the ancient prophet to endure such a test, only to be stopped by an angel of the Lord. Elder Brown´s response was ¨because Abraham needed to learn something about Abraham.¨ He goes on to explain that following this experience, Abraham really could in all sincerity pray and hope that the Lord´s will would be greater than his, and that this confidence made him the great prophet he was. It made me reflect a lot on the things I aspire to and desire in this life. I think we all need to gain an understanding of the importance of trusting God and asking and working to accomplish His will. So that´s all for this week just some thoughts I had for you. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the cold temperatures. Here I am getting cooked alive......can't wait for Fall! Elder Hollingsworth
