Happy New Year!
This week was a good time and we did a lot of my favorite thing; preaching the Gospel. We were looking for people to talk to one night, so like always we said a prayer to know where to go and who to talk to. We walked a few blocks and came to another corner where we didn`t know for sure what to do. Its basically like, me-¨where should we go?¨ Elder Powell-¨hmm ya I don`t know¨ so we pray haha. Works every time, next block we are walking and we run into this family from the Dominican Republic and start teaching them. They are super cool it was legit. Also we ate lunch with this less-active family on Sunday and turns out we were totally sent there by revelation, something we are used to but often take for granted, and don`t take the time to recognize it as the power of God. The member really needed what we shared with them that day and also they had invited this neighbor kid over to eat with us. We talked with him and he was so cool and receptive. We gave him a Book of Mormon and will be going back in a few days. These two simple stories helped me a lot this week as I thought about the year we just ended and all the things I was able to learn, do, and experience thanks to my Heavenly Father. They also helped me make goals for this coming year, and I have gained such a testimony of these two principles; the faith in God & the humility to recognize Him at all times and pray for guidance, and the hope and trust that He will guide my actions for the benefit of others, so long as I am worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Spirit. So what are my goals you may ask?!? I`ll give you just a taste of this sickness.
Hope every one can make some goals and plans to accomplish them. Our Heavenly Father expects much of us in this life and we have just a short time! Alma 34:32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors. Elder Hollingsworth
