Holy sack can´t believe its already September! 3 more days and it will be a year from when I got off the plane in Buenos Aires.
I have been learning a lot of patience and humility over the last while. The Lord has made us instruments in his hands and He has taught me recently if we ask in faith and have a righteous desire for something, we will always receive it, but it probably won´t be the way we are expecting. To explain. Over the past couple transfers I have really worked my hardest and just tried my absolute best to do everything right. I just really want to make the most of the time I have here as a missionary. I have prayed and prayed and prayed for success and we have shown our faith through our actions for sure. What has happened is that we have found a TON of people to teach. Like a literal sack ton not even kidding. So sick! Like I could tell all the stories but basically we will just be working or whatever and the Spirit like does all the work, and people to teach just like fall into our hands out of nowhere. Like literally they talk to us not even kidding. Examples from this week were Juan Carlos, Joel, Sol & Carolina, and the Mercado family. We are looking at like 20 people to teach there no joke. So on Thursday we were coming back from lunch with Estella and we stopped to buy some water at this store that is outside our apartment. I was waiting for my comp and this kid that was standing there came up and talked to me. He asked me if I had been in Gallegos a couple of months back because he thought he saw me in this hair place that his uncle owns. So we made that connection and just talked for a bit. He just moved here so he doesn´t have any family or anything. We are going to be meeting him tomorrow. Then like right after that we are walking in our building and the dude that works there and like fixes and cleans stuff started talking to us. Juan Carlos told us about what he believes and had a few questions for us. We ended up talking to him for a while and giving him a book of mormon. Yesterday in church this member from Salta, who moved here a few years back with his family, and has been inactive, cameto church. I talked to him after and he wanted us to go by his house and teach his kids so they could get baptized. We went by last night and met his whole family it was super cool. So we taught them and he has 3 more brothers here with full families to teach too. So basically way sick and all we had to do was go to church! So what´s the trick with all this? All these people live outside of our area. What does that mean? It means the other Elders will be teaching them! Haha it sounds dumb but its the hardest thing. We were totally instruments of the Lord to find all these way awesome, prepared people and then we don´t even get to teach them. Like I said we are learning patience and humility. I really love the mission and my Father in Heaven lovingly reminds me every day that ¨Its not about you.¨ I am so grateful for Him. One really cool person we DO get to teach is Sol! She is the daughter of Mercedes one of our other investigators. I will say some more stuff about her once we teach her for the first time this week!! ¨Nevertheless, they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the santification of their hearts, which santification cometh because of their yeilding their hearts unto God.¨ Helaman 3:35 Elder Hollingsworth
