Week 73 - Christmas!

12/26/2017

Hey everyone, lots of crazy stuff this week but kinda boring for me to try to think of it to write and even more boring for you to read it. So I´d just like to share my testimony today.

I know without a doubt that we are sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that He, being all-knowing and all-powerful, and having created worlds without end, whose dominions expand infinitely into the universe, is aware of each one of us individually.
He has a plan for us, his children, and he wants more than anything for us to be worthy to one day return to his presence. I have a testimony of that plan, and I know the only way it is made possible is through our Savior Jesus Christ. We must follow Him, and keep his commandments, and live as He lived, in order to one day be able to be saved through his atoning sacrifice.
His love for us is infinite and eternal, and his invitation has, is, and always will be ¨come, follow me.¨ I feel extremely privileged to be able to represent Him, and extend that same invitation every day to everyone.

Week 72, Transfers

12/18/2017

So transfers came this week.   They are merging the two zones here in Trelew. So I´m moving áreas one over basically to the other stake. Still a Zone leader now with Elder Powell from San Diego. Our zone is a lot bigger now and we will be working with two stake Presidencies so that will be interesting. A lot of good elders are coming up to the zone and some good friends so this next transfer will be dope.

Last Monday the sisters lost their keys so we had to go on a nighttime bus ride to give them a copy that we have in our apartment. At first it was a pain, but when we got on the bus, the driver  put on Metallica ¨Nothing else matters¨ so that was basically a tender mercy.

The church open house on Saturday was fun and we got some good references. The members love us, so it was hard having us both leave, but I´ll be here to help them figure things out and to take good care of our converts and investigators so no worries.

Daniel´s baptism was insanely good! He was so spiritually prepared, we came out of the Font and he just broke down into tears. Then he gave an insanely good testimony that was super good for all the members to hear!

Elder Ekblad went to be assistant so that was sad. (I taught him everything he knows) haha no but he´s a stud and he helped me a ton as a missionary I´m going to miss that dude as a comp. I can´t believe it´s already Christmas! That I´ll be home in 7 months.  I love the mission.

Week 71 ......pollo al disco

12/11/2017

This Saturday Daniel is getting baptized!! Vamos!!! We had two killer lessons with him this week and we taught him the commandments and faith and repentance and baptism. Every lesson we have had without fail we take a member with us. It has been extra good because the guy lives alone and has no family here. We have a church open house on Saturday too so it should all go really well if the members invite their friends! They love us, and if we stay here another transfer, hopefully we can work even better with them to baptize more people.

Yesterday we had a sick activity in the plaza in the afternoon. We had the stake choir come and we got all the missionaries together and had members come too and do divisions and share the light the world video. It went really well, we talked to a ton of people and the choir sang really good and this girl was playing the violin too. I took these two kids with me to hand out the little cards and ended up talking to several people for a long time. Just about killed these two deacons haha I don´t know if they´ll want to go on a mission as much anymore haha.

On Saturday we ate pollo al disco with Leo and Carla that was way good. Basically slow cooking chicken with a ton of other stuff in a big bowl over a fire.

I am really enjoying the mission and its going to be sick to be here for another Christmas. I think that during Christmas we really need to be focused on others. Its a sensitive time for those who are less fortunate, and especially for those without the hope and light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. My faith in the Savior has grown so much and I am so grateful for what He has taught me throughout my time in the mission.

¨Faith is a gift of God bestowed as a reward for personal righteousness. It is always given when righteousness is present, and the greater the measure of obedience to God´s laws the greater will be the endowment of faith.¨ Bruce R. McConkie

Week 70 ... Lighting the world

Sick week with lots of great produces. Daniel is a boss and we had two insanely good lessons with him this week, both with members of the bishopric. He is super prepared and is learning so so fast. It will be sweet to have his baptism on the 16th right after the church open house we are going to have.

Leo and Carla are doing really good too! We are reading the Book of Mormon with them and they read the gospel principles book every week to prepare for the class. Their kids scream a lot but its all good.

Yesterday we had zone conference in Comodoro with Elder Bragg of the seventy. It was a really cool experience and I learned a ton. It was fun to chill with all the bros and stay in the hotel, the same one we stayed in when I got to the mission almost a year and a half ago.

On the way back, on the bus, I was bored so I went up front and started chatting with the bus driver. Javier is a sick guy and we talked for like 3 hours, haha basically just shooting the breeze, but he told me that he wants to progress more spiritually and be baptized. I´m all ¨ah great you have a whole bus full of kids that came here to help you do that¨ haha. He had been praying while he was waiting for us to finish in Comodoro that God would help him drive at night because it was hot yesterday and he was tired. We ended up leaving at like 8 and we did not get to Trelew until like 1 am. He thanked me and said it was an answer to his prayer that I could talk to him. Also there was a sick super moon last night.
