This week really was terrible haha. I don´t want to explain all of it because I don´t want anyone to feel bad for me and I don´t want to sound like a wimp.
We had to move apartments and a lot of crap happened with that, and all of our people are falling away.
I just want you all to know this week that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Church led by our Lord and Savior. There is no other way. There is no other path than through the Gospel and the Atonement. There is no ¨well maybe next week I´ll repent¨, or ¨maybe next week I´ll quit smoking or drinking or breaking the law of chastity¨ or ¨maybe next week I will go to church and maybe take the sacrament.¨ I am not going to put it lightly, this way of thinking is rejecting our Savior and His sacrifice. The world is falling to the armies of Satan. We are at the door of the Second Coming. The day to repent was YESTERDAY.
The Savior Lives. God is our loving Heavenly Father. This life is but a moment, and though we are far from our true home we can find happiness, through the atonement and living as Christ lived.
En el nombre de Jesucristo, Amen.
Love you so much mom!!!!
Note: Trying not to freak out. He told me he is fine and tall of this is making him stronger. No photos this week.......To hard to get internet access and only had a minute
This week was a decently good produce.
Last week of the transfer and there is a legend that nothing happens in week 6. Sort of came true but we had some decently good stuff.
We were in Comodoro Monday and Tuesday for freaking choir practice haha, but the good part was that I got my packages from the office so heck ya.
Wednesday we taught some good lessons or something I think.
Thursday had a cool lesson in the church with this crazy Evangelical dude that we are teaching ¨Daniel¨, and I think things are going to go good with him if we can get him to stop going to his crazy Evangelical church. No joke I think the Pastors drug these people cuz they are so weird and they just talk and talk and talk and none of what they say makes any sense haha. Not to mention you cant teach them because they want to share weird crap that they found in the bible and the lessons take like 3 hours hahahahaha. But whatever haha.
Friday had a cool little lesson with this family just knocking doors.
Saturday we got a miracle. This couple that we are teaching talked to one of the members cuz they work together and they said that they want to get married and ahhh that is so sick because nobody is married and the dude said he wants to be with his family forever! And I said that last lesson haha! So freaking sick we have a lesson with them in like 20 minutes so gotta go haha.
Everything is super good here, we are gonna change apartments so hopefully the new one is good.
The Anonima is like the Walmart. Just a weekly trip for some eggs, drano and frosted flakes.
This is the only photo, he said no time to load the others it takes FOREVER! haha
We are getting down to business and we got miracles rolling in hot.
So Tuesday was pretty chill and we had a couple good lessons and stuff like that. Evening time we were at a members house and he gave us a reference that sounded good so we took off and we were excited. We got there and it was not a good reference haha. This lady argued with us for like an hour and was getting so mad because she was rejecting all this stuff. So we whipped out the bible and freaking wrecked her with it and she was so mad and still wouldn´t believe anything. Who knows what is gonna happen to her but it´s not gonna be good.
Wednesday it was freaking a tornado. Like the wind was so strong my legs got sore walking like 3 miles against it haha. We had an awesome first lesson with this really nice lady and she is married! Nobody is married here so that is a win. But she is super cool I think we have an appointment this Thursday.
Thursday more crappy weather and lots and lots of walking. We were looking for people for three straight hours and we were straight destroyed. We ended the day with an awesome lesson with this young couple though, and I am hoping they are the miracle we have been waiting for because we have a lesson tonight and they are super pumped.
Saturday and Friday to be honest I have no idea what happened haha. I think we contacted a lot and visited Gimene and Julio who are these young members who freaking love us haha we are always chilling with them.
Sunday we gave talks haha. Super weird giving talks in Spanish. Kind of fun though because there are only like 100 people in the church so pretty chill. I will send some pics of the church next week because it is new and freaking nice.
While we were at church like in the third hour, one of our investigators who is from Brazil her name is Odette, she freaking came to church just to invite us to have lunch with her family haha! It was so sick we were stoked! So we went over and there were a ton of people. They have a way nice house and so I was playing ping pong with everyone and completely destroying hahaha. Then after ping pong one of the relatives of this lady, like her son-in-law or something, started asking us questions. We were talking and just kind of answering questions and somehow got talking about the temple. We mentioned something about baptisms for the dead and this dude went nuts. He started questioning the crap out of us and demanding bible verses to back it up. So we whipped out 1 peter and 1 corinthians and did the usual bible wrecking that we love so much haha. But no he wasn´t convinced ahahahahaha and even better he is a Jehovahs witness!!!! hahahahhahahahahahahahahaha those guys are so freaking nuts ahahahahahaha! They don´t even have the real bible so of course he´s gonna fight with everything we say. But the cool thing was is that Odette freaking defended us and was like testifying even though we have only taught her one lesson haha. It was sick we felt pretty good after.
So ya thats the week. Got my package from the office so gonna be eating good this week. The gospel is restored, the book of mormon is true, our Savior lives and is waiting for us to come unto Him. My testimony is something that will never fail no matter how many crazy Evangelicals or Jehovahs witnesses are against me.
Moms Note: in reference to last weeks letter....they got a new heater or califactor!!! He was super happy for that. I asked about transfers and he said they are usually every 6 weeks but that it is complicated so who knows. They try to keep them in one place for 4 or 5 months. I asked if he will be with Elder T for Christmas and he said "I doubt it unfortunately" Then a sad face. They seem to be getting along really great. He is sleeping in the sleeping bag he took and its working good. He would however like a pillow. He said there is nothing good there. So guess what he is getting for christmas? He would also like ear plugs and pictures to teach with of the first vision and the plan of salvation and in Spanish if any words. A big american flag and lots and lots of candy. He must be having sugar withdrawal. We eat a lot of candy at our house!
Picture of Elder H and Elder T on the bus.
Picture of Breakfast I think?
Picture of another Elder I have no idea who?
If you guys ever get bored just go on google maps and look up Pico Truncado Santa Cruz Argentina and check out my pueblo. Pretty gross little city in the middle of nothing but hey might be fun to check it out.
So this week was like one good day, one bad day, all week.
Monday was a good pday like real good.
Tuesday was a long day like really really long. We walked and walked and walked and walked. Never had shin splints before but getting straight up wrecked in church shoes. I think we might of had like one or two good contacts nada mas. So ya a bit depressing, oh and also our califactor, which is just like a space heater that everyone uses here, well it broke so our house is freaking cold in the morning like an icebox .
Wednesday was a good day. We were freaking in high gear for some reason and we had 33 contacts which is like insane hahahaha. Found some really neat people. Found this lady from Brazil who doesn´t know a whole lot of Spanish but my companion can understand like 70% of what she says and I get like 10% . We set up an appointment with her for Friday I will talk about that later. But ya was a good day.
Thursday was another long day if I remember right. The bummer Thursday was that we had an appointment that was like the most important appointment of the whole week and we confirmed it like 3 times and it canceled. Ah it was terrible. We were so bummed out.
Friday was the zone conference in Caleta so we had to be up early to get the bus. Was a chill time in Caleta and I got a letter from Makayla so that was freaking awesome. Also had the office send us a BOM in portuguese for this Brazilian lady. We had an appointment with her at 5 but we couldn´t get a bus ticket until 4:30 cuz nobody bought the tickets I was so mad holy. We ended up getting to her house at 5:45 and she was like what the heck, but she is super nice so it was all good. But I knew she would be ready at 5 cuz she isn´t from Argentina haha. The Argentines don´t know how to keep commitments if their lives depended on it. So anyway we got there and she had some relatives over so that was sick. Three older ladies and they all wanted to talk to us. Of course they were all obsessed with my hair like the rest of this country so they all wanted a picture with me haha. But we really had an awesome lesson with them. Really was the highlight of this week.
Saturday was chill and long and not much happened. Had a lesson in the morning which is rare with this Evangelical guy who won´t shut up for five seconds and let us teach something haha. So who knows, but we had a good lesson and put a baptism date so we will see.
Sunday was long too and we spent like 3 hours in the evening listening to members complain about other members and how the district counselor is a smoker and all this crap haha. So I was so tired last night haha. But Clara came to church so thats good. She is gonna be baptized on November 12th she's so funny she is from Chile and she's way old and forgets everything .
Just going strong down here. The weather is gross, really windy and cold. Fasted yesterday and today. My testimony has never been stronger and I can´t wait for people who really want to hear the gospel. I feel so blessed with everything in my life and I know the Lord loves us so much. This is the only way to Eternal Life and I am determined to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to hear about it.
Note about photos:
Letter from Makayla! The mail works as long as you send it to the mission home and its just a letter.
I asked about the tie because I do not recognize it. He said his comp made it and that he is a wizard! He is into fashion so I can see him and Jake hitting it off.
He has sent a lot of photos of sunsets. It is slow to send photos so he only sent a few this week.
I asked about what to send for Christmas. He says:
Christmas candy of course! Load that baby up with carmels and mints and penoches and the wrapped carmels! Also hot chocolate and whatever else you can think of haha.
Good week here in Truncado. Went by really fast but was good. Monday we had interviews with the President in Caleta which was fun. The President is a super nice guy and we are good friends. Hermana Salerno is super funny too because she tries so hard to speak English haha she is super nice and said to send her love to my family and friends. So that was Monday, Caleta is like an hour bus ride from the area so we got back late and took our Pday on tuesday.
Don´t remember every detail of every day but the Lord is testing our patience I think. We can´t lock down a lot of people to teach and we got pretty wrecked contacting one morning this week. It was like 12 pm and it was pouring rain and way cold and every door they were like ¨no we don´t want your religion¨ for like 10 straight doors. But then we found this one lady who was super nice and told us she would come to church next week so that was awesome.
We are going to teach two of our main investigators tomorrow and one is this girl who has been investigating for like 2 years its insane. We are gonna give it a go and hopefully get her baptized soon.
My testimony and my love for the Savior grow so much every day. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve a mission. The time really is going so fast and I pray so fervently that I can do all the Lord needs me to do here. The Book of Mormon is true. The gospel is restored and the restoration is still happening today. Christ lives and because He lives we will live again with our families forever. My heart is so full of gratitude to know these things.
Thanks so much for all the support.
Going for a run feels awesome
The rest of the pictures are in Caleta Olivia, I think. Some are taken this weekend during conference break. He traveled there and stayed with these Elders so they could watch conference. He got to watch in a room in the church all by himself as he was the only one watching in English. HAHA
