This last week in Rio Grande was amazing and full of miracles! We had a killer lesson with Sol and Mercedes and President Salerno was with us to teach for a bit. No doubt they will be getting baptized very soon. We had a mini zone conference it was good! Then I busted outta there on Monday! Now I'm in Trelew with a way sick comp from Utah. I was super sad to leave Rio Grande I honestly loved it there and learned so much. Three months was super short but I felt like we did a lot of good. I hope to be able to visit before the end of the mission. So now I'm in Trelew! Way up north. First time in a ward so that will be cool! My comp. is Elder Ekblad from Utah so I´m way stoked he´s a super funny guy. We are pumped to get to work . I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of success here. There is a lot to be done and lots of members and other missionaries to help. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have been given continually to learn on the mission. I feel I really have changed a lot and I know its for the better. Please keep us in your prayers! Elder Hollingsworth

Buen día todos
Wow what a week! On Tuesday the wind was so strong like insanely strong. We couldn´t even leave our apartment except in taxi, so we had to do that to go to all our appointments. We taught a way sick lesson with Sol, who I talked a little bit about last week. She is 25 and her situation is super special, a definite challenge for teaching but nothing is impossible for the Lord. I am super stoked for the privilege to teach her and her mom Mercedes and help them come unto Christ. They both came to church yesterday and they liked it a ton! Also Daniel came which was another miracle. Transfers next week so we will see what happens. Thanks for all the love and support! ¨Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven.¨ Doctrine and Covenants 121:45 Elder Hollingsworth Holy sack can´t believe its already September! 3 more days and it will be a year from when I got off the plane in Buenos Aires.
I have been learning a lot of patience and humility over the last while. The Lord has made us instruments in his hands and He has taught me recently if we ask in faith and have a righteous desire for something, we will always receive it, but it probably won´t be the way we are expecting. To explain. Over the past couple transfers I have really worked my hardest and just tried my absolute best to do everything right. I just really want to make the most of the time I have here as a missionary. I have prayed and prayed and prayed for success and we have shown our faith through our actions for sure. What has happened is that we have found a TON of people to teach. Like a literal sack ton not even kidding. So sick! Like I could tell all the stories but basically we will just be working or whatever and the Spirit like does all the work, and people to teach just like fall into our hands out of nowhere. Like literally they talk to us not even kidding. Examples from this week were Juan Carlos, Joel, Sol & Carolina, and the Mercado family. We are looking at like 20 people to teach there no joke. So on Thursday we were coming back from lunch with Estella and we stopped to buy some water at this store that is outside our apartment. I was waiting for my comp and this kid that was standing there came up and talked to me. He asked me if I had been in Gallegos a couple of months back because he thought he saw me in this hair place that his uncle owns. So we made that connection and just talked for a bit. He just moved here so he doesn´t have any family or anything. We are going to be meeting him tomorrow. Then like right after that we are walking in our building and the dude that works there and like fixes and cleans stuff started talking to us. Juan Carlos told us about what he believes and had a few questions for us. We ended up talking to him for a while and giving him a book of mormon. Yesterday in church this member from Salta, who moved here a few years back with his family, and has been inactive, cameto church. I talked to him after and he wanted us to go by his house and teach his kids so they could get baptized. We went by last night and met his whole family it was super cool. So we taught them and he has 3 more brothers here with full families to teach too. So basically way sick and all we had to do was go to church! So what´s the trick with all this? All these people live outside of our area. What does that mean? It means the other Elders will be teaching them! Haha it sounds dumb but its the hardest thing. We were totally instruments of the Lord to find all these way awesome, prepared people and then we don´t even get to teach them. Like I said we are learning patience and humility. I really love the mission and my Father in Heaven lovingly reminds me every day that ¨Its not about you.¨ I am so grateful for Him. One really cool person we DO get to teach is Sol! She is the daughter of Mercedes one of our other investigators. I will say some more stuff about her once we teach her for the first time this week!! ¨Nevertheless, they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the santification of their hearts, which santification cometh because of their yeilding their hearts unto God.¨ Helaman 3:35 Elder Hollingsworth Buen día
This week was a success. We saw lots of way cool miracles and the Spirit worked through us in like everything we did! Friday night we found these two girls and we were able to teach them a quick and powerful lesson about God´s love for us and the Restoration. There is nothing like testifying of something so true and just looking someone in the eyes and see them feel the Spirit. Saturday night, we were walking to a persons house that we had talked to a couple days before. Passing the branch President´s house, I was thinking of the friend of his wife who we are teaching and that she had told me she would be coming to church the next day. I could have called her and just let her know but just kind of without thinking I said to my comp ¨I´m going to knock on the door.¨ I knocked and they let us in and just then they had visitors over. His cousin from Mendoza and her husband. They have a 6 month old baby super cute. We taught a way sick lesson with them and they were stoked to get a copy of the book of mormon. I had marked mosiah 2:41 and wrote my testimony in the front like we always prepare them, and the dope thing was that same verse is the one I felt we should share. The lesson was sick and they came to church yesterday!! President told us yesterday that that same night the dude (Paulo) was standing there talking to him after and smoking. And then he´s all ¨something weird is happening idk what is happening to me¨ and he chucked his cigarette. You want a more instant example of the power of the Atonement? You won´t find many. Super sick. Paulo reminds me of scotty from star trek haha. Also a kid named Rafaiel came to church yesterday and got super excited when we gave him a book of mormon. He gave us a big hug and was super stoked. He´s 16 and we play soccer with him on tuesday nights. All in all we are seeing the fruits of obedience and diligence. I love the scriptures and the mission and these people. Going full send if you know what I mean. ¨Do ye suppose that God will look upon you as guiltless while ye sit still and behold these things? Behold I say unto you, Nay. Now I would that ye should remember that God has said that the inward vessel shall be cleansed first, and then shall the outer vessel be cleansed also.¨ Alma 60:23 Elder Hollingsworth |
