Yesterday we had the privilege of watching a multi-stake conference broadcast that was broadcast from Salt Lake and Buenos Aires and covered Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. President of the Area Sudamerica sur Elder Texeira spoke from Buenos Aires and he was followed by two more seventy and Sister Cordon. Then Elder Rasband spoke at the end.
The messages were super powerful and they spoke of love, service, and of spreading the gospel. I got super pumped to work and last night we taught a ton of people on the street it was super sick. I witnessed the gifts of tongues and discernment like never before, the spirit was with us super strong. Just one of those times when you can testify with power and authority and promise blessings of the gospel to all of Heavenly Father´s children. Time has gone by super fast! We spent a good part of the week moving so we are super stoked to be living where we do! Super grateful! Got lots of help so as to not destroy my back like the last time. Nicest place I have lived here so far but we are still washing our clothes in the tub! No washing machine. We have lots of cool people to teach! I feel like we really are helping a lot of people so thats awesome. The Calderón family who just got baptized are doing really good. Trying to help them because its hard with everything new! Daniel too is going through lots of hard stuff. His family is all Catholic so he really just doesn´t want to offend them. I understand its super hard so we aren´t pressuring him or anything to get baptized. He is a super nice kid and I know he will make the decision when he is ready. Thats basically everything. Once again I am just super grateful to be here and to have all I have and know all I know. Have a great week everyone. ¨And it did work for them according to their faith in God; therefore, if they had faith to believe that God could cause that those spindles should point the way they should go, (the liahona) behold, it was done; therefore they had this miracle, and also many other miracles wrought by the power of God, day by day.¨ Alma 37:40 Elder Hollingsworth

Good times in Rio Grande for week one of this transfer! Elder Nelson went up to Comodoro so that was a bummer we had a fun 6 weeks us four. Elder Campopiano is Elder Coles new companion he´s a good guy. Only five weeks left for him so working hard.
This week we are for sure moving apartments which will be awesome. I already have the keys and everything, I just need to get a washing machine and get someone to help us take all the stuff over and up onto the second floor. We have a sweet view of the river and the ocean, and we are right across from the plaza. The move will definitely allow us to work faster and more efficiently, and we will be closer to everything downtown. We have a lot of cool investigators that are basically all young kids in their twenties. The trouble is getting a hold of them, but once we do, teaching it is straight fire. This week we hope to commit several people to baptism and get lots of people to church. I love being a missionary and feel so privileged to be able to be a part of the Lord´s work. I promise more blessings than you can imagine as you strive to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it blesses families and I know it is our way back home. ¨Yea, he that truly humbleth himself, and repenteth of his sins, and endureth to the end, the same shall be blessed-yea, much more blessed than they who are compelled to be humble because of their exceeding poverty.¨ Alma 32:15 Elder Hollingsworth Great week six as it warmed up quite a bit for us. Week 6 of this transfer. We were able to find this really cool lady who works for Nuskin which is a Utah company run by members of the church. So with that contact we had a really sweet lesson with her and she is super prepared to hear the Gospel! She is reading the Book of Mormon so I will keep you updated. Besides that, just a good week walking and teaching and waiting for transfers. Not too many changes in the zone so thats good! The zone is way sick right now. This week we should be moving into our new apartment although we have had a ton of fun living with Elder Nelson and Elder Cole. They are great missionaries and good friends now. Tuesday was Elder Romney´s birthday so we did a bunch of stuff. Perfect timing because we went and got the package from the post office Tuesday morning. My mom is the best, she hooked me up fatty style. I´m going to be kicking it in my fresh US jersey playing soccer today. We have lots of great people to teach so we are stoked to get started full-speed this week! Trying to implement some new ideas and find lots of people. I love the mission and I love the Gospel. I am so happy and blessed to know what I know is true. Elder Hollingsworth Elder H is now the District Leader. He is staying with Elder R for the next 6 weeks. Somos la bautizona loco Super sick week of finding and teaching like a boss. Monday and Tuesday were spent in Ushuaia at the literal bottom of the world and in the most beautiful place I have seen so far! We weren´t able to hike due to a ton of rain and mud but I was able to get to know the city and do some shopping. Also got to see a lot of friends from around the mission and chill with them. Wednesday we did a lot of service that took up most of our day. Thursday I had one year in the mission so we got some sweet pizzas from down the street. That one year went by so dang fast I don´t even know where the time went. I feel like I just got dropped off in Provo no joke. Daniel will most likely get baptized this Saturday!! So that will be sick. We fasted yesterday for more baptisms as a mission but we are doing pretty good right now as far as numbers. I am excited for this next transfer and for things to hopefully warm up a little. We have lots of people to teach and new people every day. Really amazing how when we trust in the Lord and pray always he leads us to the people that need our help. I have learned principles of Faith and trust in God like crazy over this past while and I know that will help me a ton throughout life. I try to see the positive always and all the little things my Father in Heaven does for me every day. ¨Wherefore, be faithful, praying always, having your lamps trimmed and burning, and oil with you, that you may be ready at the coming of the Bridegroom- ¨For behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that I come quickly, Even so. Amen¨ Doctrine and Covenants 33:17-18 Matthew 25:1-13 Elder Hollingsworth Moms Note: Elder H and his Comp Elder R are still living with the Zone Leaders. He says they are having a blast and working so hard! Transfers are next Monday, he will most likely stay as he has only been in the area 6 weeks. |
