8 days to go.....

Good morning to the children of the corn.

Wow what could I say now that I´ll be home so soon.

Honestly the most important thing I feel like I could communicate to you today would be my testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know that God is our Heavenly Father. I know that He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and in all places. As surely as I know that God lives, I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I know that he came and gave His life that we might live again. I know He suffered for all those who will repent and believe on Him. As I know that our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ are living personages who have physical bodies, I know that the Holy Ghost is a spirit personage sent by God to testify, teach, warn, and comfort. As sure as I know that God lives I know Joseph Smith Junior was His prophet, seer, and revelator in this last dispensation. I know that to him was given all the keys and powers of the holy priesthood necessary to perform the ordinances of salvation and administrate the Lord´s Kingdom on earth. I know that to said Smith was given the gift and power to translate the Book of Mormon, and I know that book to be the word of God. I know that President Russell M. Nelson holds those same keys today, and he is our Lord´s prophet. I know that families can be together forever, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. I know there are no second chances for salvation, and that this life is the time for man to perform his labors. These things I know for myself, and I am so very grateful to know them.

See you next week......

Week 100....16 days to go

Two things to tell about this week!

One was that we experienced a whole ton of miracles and had a great time! We found a really cool family one night when it was really really cold and we didn´t have a lot of time left in the day. We were far from our weekly goals so we prayed with lots of faith and just gave it to the buildings contacting that whole produce. They were super receptive and they understood us very well. Also we received a reference kind of of a guy that has been coming to church for a few weeks but nobody told us he wasn´t a member. His wife is Dominican and trying to set an appointment I hardcore needed the gift of tongues. Also last night we had a great first lesson with Kathy and her mom. We met Kathy like 3 months ago at a previous activity, but she didn´t live in our branch boundaries until just barely they moved. That was all part of reason number one.

Two is that while studying the book of mormon this week I learned something really cool. Abinadi teaches some really cool doctrine in the 15th chapter of Mosiah right before he becomes a martyr. He is talking about Christ and all that he will suffer and pass through and he says ¨And now I say unto you, who shall declare his generation? Behold, I say unto you, that when his soul has been made an offering for sin he shall see his seed. And now what say ye? And who shall be his seed? Behold I say unto you, that whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the kingdom of God. For these are they whose sins he has borne; these are they for whom he has died, to redeem them from their transgressions. And now, are they not his seed?¨
He explains that when Christ performed the great atoning sacrifice he saw us, those who have chosen to follow Him and who listen to his prophets and keep his commandments. I believe that it was a source of strength for Him, to be able to see us. And because of the great love He has for us, He alone was able to overcome all things. I know He is perfect and All-Powerful, and that his love for us is perfect and has all the power to change our lives, when we come unto Him. He is the Christ, the ¨Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.¨ This I know for myself, a sacred truth that has been made manifest to me by the power of the Holy Ghost.
