Buenìsimo que placer BOCA saliò campeon asì que no salimos a festejar pero casì.
We are looking at about 2 hours of daylight for proselyting so thats great news! The effort is real but the cold, como dice las escrituras, hace que los corazones de los hombres se enfriaràn. Literally. The good thing is the people that do take the time to talk to you are the ones the Lord has prepared. We are also starting family nights with the members using the Book of Mormon as we are implementing the new inciative to ¨fill the patagonia.¨ The first one is tonight so hope it goes well. This week we spent the weekend with President Salerno as we had a family night on Friday, Zone Conference on Saturday, and Sunday meetings. Talked about lots of good stuff and made plans to work hard. We will see what happens with transfers with the call on Thursday night. Hope all is well, here its colder than I can even explain. The dogs that live on the street freeze literally solid in the night no joke. In the morning its so cold it hurts to breathe almost haha! Today we woke up with frozen water again so great! I am very grateful to be where I am and to have the trust of my Heavenly Father for this work. I know the small difference we can make becomes a lot greater when we leave this life. I know more than anything we are children of God, and I hope that knowledge will affect your decisions as it should, now and always. ¨And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is right, believing that ye shall receive, behold it shall be given unto you.¨ 3 Nephi 18:20 Elder Hollingsworth

Well it was a cold cold cold 7 days down here in the bottom of the world. On Tuesday we received a letter from President that we should be expecting a ¨cold wave¨ and there was several things we had to do to prepare. Good thing we got some extra water because Friday we had no power or water! They cut the power in the whole province due to the lack of payments and all our water pipes froze. Now you`re all thinking ¨well you just had to leave the faucet dripping overnight¨ but the water system doesn`t work like that here and we would have just drained the tank asi que callense por favor.
The best day of the week was Thursday when we woke up to snow! We left way early and didn`t get back until the last minute it was the best. I missed the snow so much! We passed by to help some of the members and had massive snowball fights. I took one snowball directly in the left eye and was running blind for a bit but its all clear now. It was a super cool opportunity on Thursday to serve others, and to be able to explain to them that through the Atonement of our Savior they can be made clean like the white snow. We also met with Julio a lot this week and talked the whole time about sharing the gospel. He is dying to tell everyone about his testimony and so we go over lots of ways to explain things and how he can share with his friends and family. The power of sharing the Gospel is impressive in just improving the life of the sharer. I can tell you with 100% certainty that if you ever feel kind of down, testifying of the Savior and His Gospel will make you happier than any other thing you could possibly do. We are starting a big iniciative with the Book of Mormon down here and I know we will see miracles. I cherish the daily time I have been given to study it, and it has made such a difference in my mission and me as a person. I invite you all to read it! ¨Therefore, whoso repenteth and cometh unto me as a little child, him will I receive, for of such is the Kingdom of God. Behold, for such I have laid down my life, and have taken it up again; therefore repent, and come unto me ye ends of the earth, and be saved.¨ 3 Nephi 9:22 Elder Hollingsworth Buenas todos BOCA is still ahead by four and getting very close to the end of this campeonato asì que, estamos muy contentos. If they win their next match they basically win. We have seen some very cold days here this week. I put on more clothes than I would wear skiing or even hunting some days so you can imagine. I think I have lost all nerves in my ears and I am losing some hair quite possibly. The work has been slower in terms of people progressing towards baptism. Which is basically the whole work haha but we actually teach a lot of people per week. As things get colder people get a little colder and the whole city moves a lot slower. Not to mention there are a ton of protests due to the lack of payment to basically all departments of provincial government here in Santa Cruz. We have permission to not use proselyting clothes downtown, but I doubt anything would happen. Overall we are enjoying the time we have here and making the most of it. As a mission we are starting an initiative to fill the Patagonia with the Book of Mormon. I have been studying the Book of Mormon a ton and am excited to put a focus on sharing it. I know without a doubt that it contains the words of Prophets of God and the everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that reading it will bring us closer to God ¨than by any other book.¨ (Joseph Smith) Julio blessed the sacrament yesterday he was stoked. Every time we get together with him, he just wants to spend the whole time practicing talking to people about the gospel. It has been super cool to see the changes he has made in his life. ¨Now ye see that this is the true faith of God; yea, ye see that God will support, and keep, and preserve us, so long as we are faithful unto him, and unto our faith, and our religion; and never will the Lord suffer that we shall be destroyed except we should fall into transgression and deny our faith.¨ Alma 44:4 Elder Hollingsworth Hello everyone,
A very successful and very cold week for me here in Rio Gallegos. I have been a while without winter, due to the fact I left in the summer last year, so I am definitely not used to being so cold. I have lots of good clothes so there is no problems there, hopefully it snows. We are teaching two young kids that just moved here a little while ago and have been coming to church these past couple weeks. They have interesting religious background but they are very prepared to hear the gospel and they love everything we teach. I always learn so many new things about myself, the gospel, and our Savior when we teach someone new. We are hoping to get our water fixed this week. My hands are just about to dry up and fall off doing so much washing in this winter weather. Time is going super fast I have already been here for ten months! The time feels like it has gone really fast but as far as all the stuff I have learned I feel like I have been here for years. I am super grateful for this experience. I have been thinking a lot lately about loving everyone more, doing things with full purpose of heart, and relying on the Spirit to work through me and accomplish the things I cannot. I am praying more than ever and I have developed a trust with my Father in Heaven that I hold very dear to my heart. He always, always listens, and little by little He is directing my thoughts, words, and actions towards others and their needs. ¨And therefore, he that will harden his heart; the same receiveth the lesser portion of the word; and he that will not harden his heart, to him is given the greater portion of the word, until it is given unto him to know the mysteries of God, until he know them in full.¨ Alma 12:10 Elder Hollingsworth |
